There is a need for a new breed of digital marketing methods with Video SEO.
Alphabet, through its subsidiaries Google and Google DeepMind, is revolutionizing video creation. Google’s YouTube platform, powered by DeepMind’s advanced video generation technology, Veo, is set to empower creators with AI-driven tools to produce high-quality short-form videos, fostering innovation and expanding creative possibilities.
The ‘Double Google Algorithm’: Website SEO vs YouTube On Page Methods
How many of us have pre-filled payment and delivery information in their Google account? This reduces the traditional buying journey of 4 clicks to payment confirmation, to just one single click.
Alphabet Inc. are continually releasing new YouTube features. How likely is a blue clickable YouTube title feature to be in research right now? It’s entirely possible to pay for a download, product or book a service with one click, providing your Google profile has been linked to your payment account. Retaining YouTube platform users, expanding marketing opportunities for video creators and businesses alike must align with continued growth.
The Future of YouTube Increasing Business Conversions
The beauty about YouTube for Business is that it works for all verticals, not just eCommerce. For industries that don’t lend themselves to direct purchases, using a clickable YouTube title to trigger a form submission has the potential to be a highly effective digital marketing strategy.
For healthcare, real estate, and finance verticals, this approach allows businesses to capture leads and initiate sales conversations, even for complex products or services.
Thus, a one-click conversion is possible for every organisation. This universal business solution suits every size company, for sole proprietors, to new bands, SaaS and luxury goods.
YouTube and Google Ads are both powerful tools for promoting products and services, but the majority of small businesses or start-ups don’t have a marketing budget. By learning a few video optimization methods, it’s entirely possible for your video to rank on the first page of Google.
WARNING: Don’t Upload Another YouTube Video Until You Learn New Ranking Methods
Video SEO also increases the chance of being featured in “Related Videos” or “Up Next.” YouTube’s algorithm analyzes your viewing history and preferences to suggest videos that it thinks you’ll be interested in.
Additionally, for website Search Engine optimization, Google’s algorithm favours posts and pages which use related Google products, which includes embedding a YouTube video.
Embedding a YouTube video to your website article can significantly increase your chances of stealing a competitor’s featured snippet in SERPs. YouTube videos are highly favored by Google’s algorithm, and embedding a relevant video can enhance your content’s visibility and authority.
Dual platform Video SEO Training: Google SERPs Featured Snippets and Website Ranking Boost
By optimizing your video for specific keywords and ensuring it directly answers the user’s query, you can increase your chances of being featured in a video featured snippet, potentially outranking your competitors.
Video SEO combines traditional on-page Google optimisation with the different algorithm signal of YouTube. By understanding the synergy, similarities and strategy of this symbiotic relationship, website owners can easily learn the latest methods with a bespoke training course tailored to their domain, desired regions and target keywords.

2024 YouTube Features – Google’s New Video Ranking Signals with Playlist Votes and AI Thumbnails
Browse YouTube while simultaneously watching a video with the new miniplayer, now enhanced with some modern touches. Viewers will be able to resize and move the miniplayer in the YouTube mobile app. It’s perfect for those that love to search for more videos to add to their queues while already watching a video.
YouTube are also introducing new customization tools to give playlists a personal touch. Users can design their own custom thumbnails for playlists using their own photos or create new ones with generative AI.
To build a custom thumbnail, choose an image from your camera roll, and personalize it with text, filters, or stickers. To generate a thumbnail with AI, tap “Create with AI,” pick a theme, and choose from the AI-powered creations.
These updates are coming across mobile, web, TVs, and YouTube Music.
And later in 2024, users will be able to vote on videos in playlists, letting you and your friends curate the best line-up. It also allows for further interaction with creators: a creator could use this feature to have their viewers rank their favorite unboxings or reviews.
2017 on-page SEO tips that haven’t changed much
Back in 2017, I was finding it a real challenge to encourage website owners to write about their business, so much so I gave them a 300-word target to create new page content.
You know I wanted to say ‘at least 500 words’, in my hundreds of Skype teaching consultations the most frequently asked question was “Why do I have to write so many words?”
Clients would ask “What’s the absolute bare minimum?” Genuinely, I’ve had content delivered with 290-302 words. The resistance of business owners to actually sit down to write meaningful content was one of the most frequent scenarios of this era.
Writing a new blog post should take between 30-60 minutes depending on the material you choose to feature. Some people find this easier than others and I’m here to help guide you through your homework so I can tweak for SEO.
- Your blog post doesn’t have to concentrate on your business all the time – who wants to read about window cleaning once a month? Inject a little local news, or welcome a new member of staff. Talk about a new product that’s helped your business such as a new vehicle, an equipment investment or an event you’re attending later this year.
- Settle down with a cup of tea – or maybe something stronger? You’ll need at least 300 words for Google SEO, however please write more if you can. The more the merrier!
- ‘Cheat’ with someone else’s article – We know that breaking copyright rules is illegal, however if you credit the original source to an article you can copy and paste that text, even amend it to suit as long as you say something like “The YouTube 2024 Features and Updates article can be found here” at the bottom of the page is perfectly fine.
- YouTube videos – Do you have mobile phone footage that you can upload to YouTube? Maybe a demo? Maybe a walk around the office or a movie of your welcoming reception area. Google owns YouTube so this is an SEO trick not to be missed.
- Before and After photos – Are you in a skilled industry such as a plumber, plasterer, builder or property maintenance? Just 2 photos can light up your blog post, plus when I add an Alt tag and rename the image with your keywords this is another Google SEO green tick ✔
- Customer Reviews – Everyone loves to read a success story so from your existing client base simply ask (or bribe) your current client base for details of how you helped them, or review a product or service.
- Industry News – Newsletters which land in your inbox can often be the perfect starting point to apply this news to your business. Is there a new 2017 product launch that will benefit your clients? Tell them how.
- Trade Shows and Exhibitions – Many events take place over a few days annually, if you are attending, speaking or have a stall then this is the perfect time to invite your customers to meet in person for a catch up.
- Cross Promoting – Do you work closely with another company? One huge benefit of cross promoting is that a well-written article on your blog recommending their products or services will often be shared by them, increasing Google’s trust as your blog gains more views and clicks.
- Focus on Geographical Areas – It’s easy to Google search and compile a list of geographical towns and villages in your service area. Write about why your customers should choose you and include as many local areas with aesthetics in mind.
